HISTORIAS MARCIANAS PRIMERAS DESDE EL PARALELO MAGNÍFICO
Initially conceived as a series of short science-fiction stories describing the 10th anniversary of Martian colonization by humans, as well as their first scientific accomplishments, milestones, setbacks and tragedies from the personal perspective of Martian colonist, official chronicler and astrophysicist Dr. Argos Miguel de los Reyes, 13 chapters of this alternate Martian reality have been published so far by H. Noriega Mendoza since January 2019 on Juárez a Diario (in Spanish), a local digital newspaper and project led by David Gamboa García.

The opening episode of the First Martian Stories from the Magnificent Parallel (Introduction: The Magnificent One) was originally published in Spanish on Juárez a Diario on January 18, 2019.
Nine months later, on October 8th, 2019, the Stories were first published in English in The Prospector, UTEP's official student newspaper thanks to editor Valeria Olivares. Two episodes have been released so far (June 2020).

FIRST MARTIAN STORIES: OUTLINE OF AN ALTERNATE MARTIAN COLONIZATION REALITY
The First Martian Stories from the Magnificent Parallel compile Martian official chronicler and Mexican astrophysicist Dr. Argos M. de los Reyes' (formerly Dr. Argos Vallefranco's) records of the first 10 years of Martian exploration and colonization by humans, who set foot on the Red Planet for the first time in 2028 aboard a second generation SpaceX Starship rocket.
H. Noriega-Mendoza's Stories support and take for granted that the private company SpaceX, in collaboration with NASA and the European Space Agency, makes it possible to achieve this major human goal by the end of the 2020s.
Dr. de los Reyes, selected to be part of the first crew to Mars for his talents as a planetary dynamicist and his expertise and neutrality as a chronicler and analyst of the international space race in the 21st century, is committed to fund the first Martian Observatory and track the Moon Phobos (soon to enter Mars' Roche limit) from the Martian surface. His mission also includes monitoring Near Mars Objects (asteroids) that may pose a danger to the human colony. Finally, he also records all major scientific accomplishments, setbacks and tragedies...all the relevant "firts" on Mars. Fourteen episodes of the Stories so far have presented and discussed:
The first three humans fraternally setting foot on Mars, first evidence of subsurface water, first vegetables grown, first habitat built, first successful MOXIEs and WAVARs to generate oxygen and water, first man to conquest Mount Olympus, first man and woman at the Martian Poles, first transhuman, first love, first human born on Mars, first casualties, first live violin concerto on Mars, first pseudoscientist, first diamond deposit, first major display of fireworks, first major sculpture, first science mystery (the possibility of a subsurface microcivilization) and...first permanent settlement located at Mars' Parallelus Magnificus, the Antoniadi Station, de Cedro's headquarters.
CHARACTERS AND ENVIRONMENTS THROUGH
3D MODELING

We were able to give our characters a face and construct natural environments and human technology on the red planet by means of commercial 3D modeling software, FaceGen and DAZ Studio. The very first 3D model of Argos M. de los Reyes (formerly Argos M. Vallefranco) by H. Noriega-Mendoza appeared at the end of the Azogue Observatory part 3 episode in Juárez a Diario (Oct. 25, 2019), where Argos describes the foundation of the first astronomical observatory on Mars. Two months later, on Dec. 20, 2019, the Historical Royalties of a Pioneer episode included another 3D render, this time including Argos and American geologist Dr. Brix Ramsey, de Cedro's friend and close collaborator.

The mission's lead physician, Dr. Joseph Barnard (wearing his characteristic red spacesuit), expresses a minor security concern to Bright.
